Nonsense in chunks
A baby kangaroo has taken over my life. And the stupid thing is, he's not even real. He is Squeaky, my Fluff Pet in Facebook, and he does nothing but laze around, lose in races, and taste-test cyber food--mostly a pile of leaves, bamboo shoots, and broccoli. Recently I discovered that while pizza, cupcakes, and cookies (whole or already bitten) contribute to his growing speed, tacos, strawberries, and bananas never help. The aversion to tacos I can understand, but I'm rather curious about the attitude to fruit. Okay, they may be herbivores, but maybe wallabies really don't like fruit. Why the love for junk food and pastries, though? It does not make sense, I know, but neither does anything else on Facebook--which is why it is fun.

Why oh why did I buy Sean Astin's tell-all about making Lord of the Rings? Sure, it was honest, but the neurosis and the whining were more than enough. Then again, I used to wonder how the cast felt about smothering each other with their growing fame (particularly Orlando Bloom). So that made it intriguing. And the bits about some members of the cast and crew getting injured (including Sean himself), all the frustrations and whatnot, were interesting, too. There was also a chapter dedicated to the "We are not gay, but there's a lot of ass-grabbing in the set" shebang. Then again I wasn't a big Sean Astin fan. I was just, er, inexplicably drawn to the pictures (Weee, Sam and Frodo galore). Still, I should stop buying autobiographies and just get the extended DVDs next time.

After watching Part I of the Elvis mini-series (yay, thanks to
unlightedcandle), I realized I didn't know a lot of Elvis songs except for the really famous ones like "Heartbreak Hotel," (but that's largely thanks to Happy Feet) and "Blue Suede Shoes." And whoa Elvis' legs and knees...eep. Alamat sila. In my heart, Elvis will always look like Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Oh, momma.
