eeee domesticity!
Thanks to CCS, I now have a renewed interest in Japanese food, and I'm actually thinking of making onigiri (rice balls wrapped in seaweed). The recipe looks easy, but I think I need to work out some patience with rice-shaping.
Will normal rice work? I haven't checked it out at Co-Op yet but it seems their Japanese rice is expensive. If normal rice is okay, I'll probably start the great onigiri attempt next week. I don't like the umeboshi idea, though (and we don't have umeboshi here anyway o_O), so I'll start with onigiri stuffed with tuna and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
Wish me luck! I don't know if I can cook really well. Mostly I just assist when my aunt makes complicated dishes that she can't handle on her own. But I really couldn't resist not trying because it looked so easy! If the onigiri turns out okay I'll be able to take some to work. And picnics, too :)
Bentos are sort of ambitious, though x_X but look at this site, it's so cute. I know I won't manage to try their recipes soon, what with the difficulties in Japanese ingredients. But there's Co-Op, hurrah! And it's a 10-minute walk away from our office.
Gah am hungry now. Will go get myself some fake yakisoba.
